Everyone loves a good scone. These refined sugar free chocolate chip scones are where its at. Whether you need something to get you through the week, love to bake, or just want some scones, the time is ALWAYS right to make scones. These scones are crispy on the outside, and the perfect soft texture on the inside. Okay I’m gonna toot my own horn… I really nailed this recipe.

Every time I ask my friends what I should bake next, they ALWAYS say scones, and it is always a great decision because scones are the best. I made them yesterday and they are gone now. I also LOVE making scones. You should consider putting on sweatpants and a sweatshirt, blasting your favorite music, and making scones. It is literally my favorite thing to do. Okay now you need to go try the scones!!!

how to make refined sugar free chocolate chip scones

start by preheating the oven to 400 degrees

then, mix together the flour, coconut sugar, salt, and baking powder

cut the butter into small pieces and squish it into the flour mixture with your hands until it is mostly combined (it doesn’t have to be perfectly even throughout)

then, knead in the egg, milk, and vanilla with your hands

fold in the dark chocolate chips

knead the dough on a floured counter top until it isn’t super sticky and form into a large circle. cut into 8 scones

place onto a parchment paper lined pan and bake for 18-22 minutes

  • 2 1/4 cup unbleached all purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup coconut sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 6 tbsp cold butter
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • preheat the oven to 400 degrees
  • mix together the flour, coconut sugar, salt, and baking powder
  • cut the butter into pieces and mush into the flour mixture with your fingers until it is almost evenly combined throughout
  • then, knead in the egg, milk, and vanilla
  • fold in the chocolate chips
  • knead on a floured counter top until it isnt super sticky. form into a large circle and cut into 8 scones
  • place them onto a parchment paper lined pan and bake for 18-22 minutes
  • serve and enjoy!!
