this recipe is made with super simple ingredients and no refined sugar. substitutions to fit your needs are below.

how to make butter pecan cookies with maple cream cheese frosting

preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

in a pan on the stove, add in the pecan pieces and 1 tablespoon of the butter. bring to medium heat and let simmer until toasty (about 3-5 minutes). set aside.

in a large bowl, mix together the flour, coconut sugar, salt, baking soda, and cinnamon.

mix in the melted butter, vanilla, and eggs. fold in the pecan pieces and wrap the dough in plastic wrap. refrigerate for 1 hour.

roll the dough into balls and and flatten out a bit. transfer to a parchment paper lined pan and bake for 12-15 minutes.

make the frosting by whisking together the cream cheese and maple syrup.

  • 1 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 tbsp vanilla
  • 2 eggs

  • 2/3 cup cream cheese
  • 3 tbsp maple syrup
